As we said last week, the VFO will be publishing a little biography of the Team who works for the Vincentian Family in this office. We hope sharing our stories will make it easier for you to contact us with your valuable information. Together we can make collaborative ministry a hallmark of Vincentian Family ministry for and with those we serve.
Today we introduce Fr. Flavio Pereira, CM. Enjoy learning who we are, where we came from, and our ministries before serving at the Office.
Fr. Flavio Pereira Tercero, CM
Father Flavio Pereira Tercero, CM, has served as an Assistant Coordinator in the international Vincentian Family Office since October 2015. He was born and raised in Nicaragua (Central America). After receiving his Bachelor’s in Philosophy and his BA and MA in Theology he was ordained August 24 th , 1996. He has served in various ministries: participation in the development/application of the Congregation of the Mission (Central America) Provincial Training Plan; Formation Director for Provincial Postulancy (Guatemala City); support for Vincentian Family National Branches (Guatemala and Nicaragua); Provincial Treasurer (Central America Province). In addition he has been the Chaplain at the National Cancer Institute (Guatemala City) and Hospice Chaplain for terminally ill patients with HIV (St. Joseph Hospital, Guatemala). Father Flavio also served in Community Development (Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Petén, Guatemala) to help create social movements among the poorest and as Chaplain/Vicar La Recoleccion Church and at the Colleges La Recoleccion and La Asuncion in Leon, Nicaragua.
Since October 2015, Fr. Flavio has served as Assistant Coordinator for the international Vincentian Family Office, working with the National Councils of the regions of South and Central America, Middle East and the French and English speaking countries of Africa. He also updates the VFO Facebook entries and contributes to the .famvin Monday publishings. In addition he is helping to develop Latino ministries at the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
