St. Vincent Health has named Kevin Speer as chief strategy officer. Speer will oversee business development, strategic planning and brand management for the 16-hospital health system. St.Vincent Health is Indiana’s largest healthcare employer, with 16 health ministries serving 45 counties in central Indiana.INDIANAPOLIS, IN – St.Vincent Health has announced that Kevin Speer has been appointed Chief Strategy Officer. Speer’s role as Chief Strategy Officer will involve establishing business development opportunities, strategic planning, network development and brand management for the 16-hospital health system. He will also lead market research, physician relations and corporate communications for St.Vincent Health.

Speer assumes his new role April 10 and report directly to Caponi.

For the past two years, Speer served as Chief Legal Officer for St.Vincent Health where he provided leadership legal counsel on antitrust laws, clinical service and patient care issues and corporate counsel services.

Speer has practiced at Hall, Render, Killian, Health and Lyman for approximately 20 years, and was named partner for his last 10 years of service at the preeminent health law firm.

Speer earned his law degree from Valparaiso University and holds a BA from Purdue University. He is actively involved in the Indiana Bar Association, National Health Lawyers Association and National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Speer is also a member of the Commission on Legislative and Government Affairs for the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Kevin, his wife, Kim Speer, an active member of the St.Vincent Seton Society and St.Vincent Women’s Advisory Board, and two sons, Eric and Cole, ages 11 and 7, reside in Carmel, Ind.
