Ladies of Charity and Daughters of Charity were among the 7.000 people who joined hands on a street which spans Buffalo across several racially and economically diverse neighborhoods. The street has a historical connection to the Underground Railroad.
Sister Mary Grace Higgins, DC, Spiritual Moderator for Buffalo, second from left, and Kathleen Sieracki, third from left, LCUSA vice-president for the northeastern region, represented the Ladies of Charity.
Over 50 community organizations sponsored Hands Across Buffalo, a celebration of diversity at which participants stood united against poverty.
