Blessed Marta Wiecka, D.C.Over 500 pilgrims travelled  from different corners of Ukraine to the grave of Blessed Sister Marta Wiecka, DC. The 5th pilgrimage of the Vincentian Family to Sniatyn,  took place on May 10-11, 2014marking the five years since she was beatified.

On Saturday Bishop Radoslav Zmitrovych, OMI celebrated the solemn Eucharist. In his sermon, he reiterated that we should have Jesus Christ in the center of our everyday life as well as peace and serenity in our hearts.

After the Eucharist the pilgrims were divided into discussion groups. The theme of the sharing was taken from Mathews Gospel (Mt 5,9): “Blessed be the peacemakers …

The musical group “Santo”   then presented a concert. The group also participated during the Eucharist and other moments during the pilgrimage.

After dinner, the procession with candles followed from the parish church to the cemetery to the grave of Blessed Sister Marta Wiecka, DC where a prayer service took place.

On the second day of the pilgrimage we gathered again in the parish church for a Morning Prayer and adoration.

After adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the veneration ceremony of Blessed Sister Marta’s relics took place during which Sisters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul of the Eastern Rite sang the Akathistos to Blessed Marta Wiecka.

After the veneration of the relics Bishop Vitaliy Skomarovskyi celebrated Eucharist. In his homily, Bishop Vitaliy pointed out that Christ protects His sheep, and they listen to Him and follow Him. He also put us some questions: “How do we listen to Jesus? Who is our shepherd?” He ended his homily by pointed out that every single virtue like love, peace, and courage… be found in the pierced Heart of Jesus.

The pilgrimage ended with lunch. A beautiful family atmosphere marked the whole pilgrimage.
