SPRINGFIELD, OHIO A St. Vincent De Paul official Monday told the City Commission St. Vincent’s embattled plan to convert the rectory and school buildings is not worth the ill-will it has created with residents.
Dan Herider, district council president of St. Vincent De Paul in Springfield, said the organization’s board voted Saturday to withdraw its application to rezone the property for administrative offices and a homeless shelter for up to 40 adults.
“On Saturday morning … after a lot of concern … it was decided that the price was a bit too high of the good will of the people of the West High Street address. So the shelter is a dead issue,” Herider said.
