Brother Nelson is the new Brazilian president of the SVDP

Brother Nelson is the new Brazilian president of the SVDP.

With 31 votes, Nelson Antonio de Souza (photo), 43 years, was elect, last Saturday (June 4th), in Brasilia (Brazil’s capital, as a 14th Brazilian president of the National Council of the San Vincent de Paul Society (SSVP). Brother Nelson will lead the Brazilian SVDP until September of 2009.

Nelson was born in Rio de Janeiro, in August of 1961. He is married and now he is retired from the Army. Bachelor in Law and postgraduate in Procedural Law and Civil Law, brother Nelson belongs to the SSVP since 1985, when he entered at the Conference Saint Miguel.

Nelson will be de successor of brother Carlos Henrique David, who was de National President until now. Nelson has great experience as a vincentian leader, being president of important Conferences and Councils. Nelson was the currently National Secretary of SVDP in Brazil.
