Julien Spiewak, new Secretary General
Dear Vincentian Brothers and Sisters
May the Peace and Love of Christ be with you.
I’m pleased to inform you that Julien Spiewak will be appointed as the new Secretary General with effect from 27 September 2013. This has been already endorsed by the CGI Board.
Julien is currently the International Vice-President for Youth and has been serving in the Board of the Council General for several years and is well known to many of you. He is a fervent, dedicated and committed Vincentian with strong attributes of Vincentian Spirituality and ethos.
He is multi-lingual and speaks French, English, Spanish, Italian and to some extent Portugese. He is French and living in Paris. He is currently the Editor for the MEP Fathers, a French missionary group.
He has been involved in the organization of the Vincentian Family World Youth Day in Madrid a few years ago and recently in July in Belo Horizonte in Brazil. He has convened several SSVP Vincentian Regional Youth meetings in various regions of the world. He has a close association with members of the Vincentian Family.
Julien is 29 years of age and has the expertise, competence and the maturity in serving in the post of Secretary General. He will show the young side of the Society and remembering Blessed Frederic who co-founded the Society when he was only 20 years old along with his university contemporaries and an adult. Please join me in wishing Julien well and keep him in your prayers.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our dear friend and brother, Jean Cherville, who has served so faithfully as Secretary General which he will relinquish on 26 September 2013. We wish him well and also do keep him in your prayers.
Let us unite in prayer in our mission and vocation in our Vincentian apostolate in serving Christ in the poor for the greater glory of God. In Jesus precious and adorable name, we pray.
Jesus loves you and bless you all.
Yours fraternally in St. Vincent and Blessed Frederic,
Michael Thio, International President
