July 30 – Feast of St. Justin de Jacobis, CM

Justin de Jacobis is the only Vincentian saint other than Vincent de Paul who did not sacrifice his life for the faith (a martyr). He was a missionary  to the land in northeast Africa known as Abyssinia which today is made up of the countries of Ethiopia and Eritrea.”… From the very beginning of their arrival in Ethiopia Fr. Justin and his fellow missionaries worked to become “one with” the people they served. They started dressing like Ethiopians and eating Ethiopian food. ”
