It’s a group definitely leaving a legacy in South Bend.
Thursday, the St. Vincent De Paul Society hosted it’s first ever Legacy Luncheon.
The event, on the Notre Dame campus, celebrated the society’s 100 years of helping the community.
Since 1904, the volunteer group has helped hundreds of poor people across St. Joseph County.
Sean Wendlinder of the St. Vincent De Paul organization says, “We thought this would be a nice opportunity to get our friends together and celebrate the work of the St. Vincent De Paul Society, to help people in need in our community, and also to look ahead to the future, and to let people know we need them now, as much as ever, to help us help poor people in the county.”
