“In the name of the Superior General, Fr. Józef Kapusciak, Assistant General, made a fraternal visit to the Eucharistic Sisters on 17-20 May, in Sofia (Bulgaria).

“This community was founded in Thessalonica in 1889 by Fr. Giuseppe Alloatti, C.M. (1849-1933), of the Province of Turin, a missionary among the Bulgarians of the Byzantine-Slav Rite from present-day Macedonia and Bulgaria.

“These sisters naturally feel themselves part of the Vincentian Family (in fact, they follow the Rules of the Daughters of Charity). Actually, they are present in Bulgaria and Macedonia and have 45 Sisters, distributed in 9 houses. They work, among other things, in parishes, day-care centers and in the Major Seminary of Skopje (Macedonia).

Fr. Kapu_ciak gave the sisters (there were 38 present, coming from all the houses) a conference on the Vincentian Family, animated a community day, met with the Nuncio of Bulgaria, visited the new monastery of the sisters and was able to see the souvenirs of the Founder which the sisters keep with great piety.

“At the conclusion of this visit, Fr. Kapu_ciak met with the Superioress General, Sr. Agnes Slavovska, and her council in order to dialogue on the possible forms of collaboration with the Vincentian Family, the transfer from Italy to Bulgaria of the remains of the co-founder Eurosia Alloatti (the sister of the founder), the introduction of the cause of beatification of Fr. Alloatti, and the preparation of future formators in Rome.
