The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul in USA partnered with the Daughters of Charity to fund the work our Vincentian Family to build a new health care facility needed after the terrible flooding experienced in Orissa, India.
After many months of construction complications the hospital has been completed. A ceremony for the blessing of the hospital took place on October 2nd on Gandhi Jayanti Day, which means on the birthday of Gandhi – the father of the nation. Many dignitaries and members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul members were present for the celebration. It was a memorable day for the Vincentians and all the people of the community.
Thanks to the generosity and support of the members of SSVP USA, the hospital is in service with 30 beds to care for the sick people in Orissa.
