Daughters of Charity Provincial Archives announces  that finishing touches are being made in Gallery 2 for our next exhibit, titled “Swan Song: Looking Back at the 1964 Habit Change”.
Fifty years ago this September the Daughters of Charity set aside their traditional habit, with its beloved cornette.
Through photographs, artwork, publications, and artifacts we’ll look back at the habit change and put it in the context of renewal in the Church that was taking place in the 1960s. The exhibit will open June 30 and run through mid-October. The exhibit is open to the public on Wednesday afternoons; Sisters and Associates on the Emmitsburg Campus can view the exhibit any time the Archives is open (Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm).Â
