From the NGO News of the Sisters of Charity Federation…. “The Commission on the Status of Women meeting took place in March, with Rosita and Jyoti, our interns from Nepal and India respectively, attending more than 30 side events. After the meeting, they left to visit Nazareth. Rosita has been there before, but for Jyoti it is the first time. All three of our interns during February and March, Hechun, Rosita and Jyoti, offered so much to the NGO community. In addition to their work at the UN, all three had the opportunity to visit the New York Charities and Jyoti and Rosita also visited the New Jersey Charities and Genesis Farm.
Our spring newsletter is available for download. Note that there will be a two-week session for the Permanent Forum on the Rights of the Indigenous in May. Originally, we had heard it was cancelled since there will be a world conference on indigenous issues in the fall, but they decided to have it anyway. If anyone is interested in attending, let me know as registration is now open.
