The Vincentian Family in the Philippines, continues to update its aid coordination efforts via Twitter.
For the initial description of its efforts …
Adamson University, through the Integrated Community Extension Services (ICES), is launching the AdU Charity Hub once more to provide relief and help to those affected by Typhoon Yolanda. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SSVP) and the Vincentian Family Coordinating Council (VFCC) Philippines will be collaborating with AdU in this effort. Top priority in the relief effort are the Vincentian communities in the Visayas: parishes, schools, and cities served by the Congregation of the Mission and Daughters of Charity.
The university is appealing to the members of its community, to its alumni, benefactors, and friends to open their hearts and give whatever is in their means to the Charity Hub. Donations are needed the most for the following:
- Food: Easy-open, ready-to-eat canned goods; biscuits, bread, rice
- Water: At least 1000mL bottled water
- Clothing: Usable clothing, new underwear, rubber slippers
- Sleeping/floor mats
- Toiletries: Soap, shampoo, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, diapers, sanitary napkins
- Medicine: Pain relievers, anti-fever and flu, cough and cold medicines, medicine and dressing for wounds
- Cash donations: Cash donations are also most welcome.
