Denise Mattson of the Vincentian Family Haiti Initiative writes…. “Wanted to share a little exciting news with you, and I attached a graphic to accompany it.
“This morning, the Prime Minister of Haiti, Laurent Lamothe, began following Zafèn on Twitter! Zafèn was launched by the Vincentian Family Haiti Initiative (VFHI) and its partners during the 350th anniversary celebration of the deaths of Vincent and Louise.
“This is the most exciting thing that has happened since Hillary Clinton, while U.S. Secretary of State, referred to a Zafèn staff member in one of her public addresses. Of course that is an exaggeration. Truly, the most important development is its tremendous success and its impact in Haiti. In its first three years,Zafèn raised more than $1.6 million that was invested in 300 businesses and social projects in 33 cities across Haiti. A considerable portion of this funding came from Vincentian organizations all over the world who are keeping Haiti in their prayers and are taking action to support empowering initiatives like this one.
“Zafèn was the VFHI’s first effort in Haiti, but not the last.
