The second term of Mayleen Bernardino, familiarly known as PMay, as SSVP National President officially started July 1, 2013 and will end June 30, 2016. To ensure that the Society‘s leaders are of one mind and one spirit, she called for a National Strategic Planning Meeting last August 9 to 11, 2013. It was held at Oasis House of Prayer in Silang, Cavite. Fifty Four Regional Coordinators, Diocesan Council Presidents and members of the Executive Board attended the strategy planning.
In her welcome and opening address, Pmay stressed the need for Vincentian leaders to be anchored on the vision mission of the Society spelled out during the 2010 Strategic Planning, at the start of her first term as National President. She presented the milestones the Society has achieved in the past 3 years and what remains to be accomplished (see separate President’s Report).
Fr. Frank Vargas, CM, former SSVP National Spiritual Director and chair of Vincentian Family Coordinating Council gave an input on Witnessing and Stewardship in the Spirit of St. Vincent de Paul and Blessed Frederic Ozanam. As Vincentians, the Patrimony of the Poor must always be foremost in our minds and hearts, a way of life.
The triumvirate of Bro. Jun Cruzat, Sis. Zeny Capistrano and Sis. Heidi Nimuan facilitated the Strategic Plan Design including a brief review of the 7F Program of Pmay. The succeeding days were spent on animated and detailed discussions of action plans for 2013 to 2016.
The Strategic Planning was capped by the celebration of the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Geri Vibar, CM, SSVP National Spiritual Adviser where the fruit of the strat plan, the Regional Action Plans, were offered. Certificates of Appointment for all the newly appointed Regional Coordinators were also given by the National President followed by the Commissioning Rites.
