Participants in the International Vincentian Youth (EIJV) gathering in Brazil reflect on and experience mission.
They are grouped into three groups according to the language spoken.
In English, the trainer is Father Gregory Gay – General Superior of the Congregation of the Mission, and the current successer of St. Vincent de Paul. For the group of Spanish speaking Vincentian Father Vincent Bokalic, Argentina. And members of the Portuguese language countries are in catechesis with Fr. Eli Keys.
The three groups are called to be missionaries in their regions, helping people in situations of social vulnerability to come out of poverty, both material and spiritual.
Prior to these catechsis Father Gregory Gay – Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission (CM) – celebrated Mass, around 12pm.
In his homily, Father Gregory commented on the responsiveness of the International Vincentian Youth (EIJV). “I appreciate the hospitality of Brazil, who welcomed us so well.” He concluded. “I hope that God’s covenant faithfulness to be a response to the Vincentian become Good News for the Poor.”
