Daughters of Charity Provincial Archives announces that for next week they will begin a series of daily posts answering the following questions about their habit
- the origins of the Sisters’ traditional attire,
- how the look of the cornette changed over time,
- why it took 5 years for the American Daughters of Charity to change from Mother Seton’s black cap to the French cornette, and
- an incident during the Civil War involving the habit, President Lincoln, and an act of Congress.
All this and more, beginning tomorrow morning, on their blog: http://dcarchives.wordpress.com/
