From the Zafen Facebook page…”Zafèn is celebrating three years of entrepreneurial success and Global Crowdfunding Day. Since launching, Zafèn has surpassed expectations by raising $1.6 million for 300 entrepreneurs in 33 cities around the country and donating to worthy social projects. These results show the power of Haitian entrepreneurs partnering with Diaspora and friends. Zafèn is the first and only crowdfunding site with a major emphasis on supporting Haitian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Please share with your friends and join us at Zafen.org.
Let’s celebrate!”
Zafèn is a finance program for Haiti that links lenders and donors with small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and social projects. It launched April 1, 2010 by partners Fonkoze (the largest micro-finance institution in Haiti), the worldwide Vincentian Family, DePaul University in Chicago, and the Haitian Diaspora, represented by the Haitian Hometown Association Resources Group. It’s a multi-lingual Peer-to-Project (P2Project) Internet pathway that enables anyone anywhere to make loans or donations to pre-screened projects that spur economic development.
