This incredible journey from Rome to St. Louis is truly an adventure complete with many twists and turns. Over the Alps, across an ocean, a Bishop who changed the plan from New Orleans to St. Louis by way of Baltimore and Bardstown Kentucky (and an intersection with the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth history).
For all the journey meant learning a new language. For some it involved a seminary formation that partially took place on board a ship and a river barge and for those already ordained abandoning the cassock for black suits and ties of the American clergy (something that may come as a surprise to some today).
This well illustrated slide presentation is the second part of VinFormation’s celebration of the Foundation of the Congregation of the Mission.
Both parts of this celebration can be viewed and downloaded at VinFormation.
