Seven members of the International Project Design Team (PDT) tasked with designing a new and innovative formation program for the Vincentian Family Collaborative Action Project (VFCAP) reconvened at St. Vincent’s Seminary in Philadelphia November 26-30 to plan the modules and prepare materials for a pilot VFCAP experience that will be held in Paris on May 19-24, 2013.

The Project was created by the Vincentian Family Collaborative Commission in response to requests from the branches of the Vincentian Family regarding the need for a new and innovative formation process.
The project is designed to promote Vincentian collaboration and empower members of the Vincentian Family to work together to help individuals and communities emerge from poverty. It seeks not only to nurture the participant’s Vincentian spirituality, leadership qualities and management skills and understanding, but also to provide for a tangible experience in collaboration: how the charism is alive today, and how it can be projected into the future.
Upon completion of the program participants will:
- Re-awaken in their hearts the vision that animated our founders and is to be incarnated in us.
- Be re-rooted in their relationship with God to be effective servants of the poor.
- Re-discover the power of collaboration as the only way to effect systemic change.
- Re-ignite their passion to be catalysts for change.
- Re-imagine themselves in their ministerial roles so as to be energized in their service to the poor.
Leaders of the Vincentian Family national councils are strongly encouraged to nominate candidates who would be comfortable in a program that will be delivered in English. The PDT is particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in Spanish, French or Portuguese who then may also be willing to help adapt this program to the language and culture of others in our Vincentian Family. All applications should be submitted to vfcaprogram@gmail.com prior to January 15, 2013. All candidates will be informed of the final decision by January 30, 2013.
