An anonymous donor has come forward with a challenge grant of $6000.00 for a group of 17 young adults attending the Vincentian Gathering in Brazil before World Youth Day this coming July.
Donations received between November 12th and the end of the year will be applied towards the goal of matching the $6000.00 contribution.
The group includes members of the Society, students and alum of St. John’s University and a member of the Vincentian Mission Mission Corps.
Please note: this challenge excludes any pre-arranged contributions that has been pledged for this purpose, and the matching funds are restricted to supporting the 17 WYD participants.
These Young Vincentians who are trying to raise money in whatever way they can will be representing the Society in the United States and are either college students or young professionals at the beginnings of their careers, who were chosen to participate in this once in a lifetime trip. They have agreed to share their testimony with other Vincentians, in the hopes of igniting a spark that will turn into a lifetime of interest and service in the Society.
Update: “Donations may be made on-line at http://www.svdpusa.org or checks may be mailed to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 58 Progress Parkway, Maryland Heights, MO 63043 Attention: WYD”
