The event has grown each year, attracting over 18,000 walkers, raising over $1.4M with over 1,000 Conferences and Councils participating.
Friends of the Poor Walk is a National Program coordinated by the Development Team at the National SVDP Office. The inaugural event took place in 2008 with the purpose of providing local Conferences and Councils the framework to host an event that would raise funds for their Conference or Council.
This site contains all Friends of the Poor® Walk planning, media, sponsor, and administrative/organizational material, including Walk marketing graphics–all downloadable. The site is linked to the electronic pledge facility for credit card pledges for those registered to walk on behalf of each walker-designated SVdP Conference or Council.
