Nancy Bramlage, SC, was recently named director of mission and ministry at the College of Mount St. Joseph (Cincinnati). Bramlage is a Mount alumna and serves on the College’s Board of Trustees. The purpose of the office of mission and ministry is to promote and strengthen the values of the Mount’s mission while celebrating its Catholic identity as a college sponsored by the Sisters of Charity.
Bramlage hopes to use her new role to develop a greater appreciation among faculty and staff of what it means for the Mount to be a Sisters of Charity institution and an institution of higher learning.“I think there’s really a hunger on the part of the faculty and staff to get more of that flavor, more spirituality,” Bramlage said, “I’d like to have more events, such as retreats, days of recollection and immersion trips and events, for faculty and staff to learn the history of the Mount and the Sisters of Charity, and the chance to become more immersed in the Mount’s Catholic heritage.”
The office developed from the campus ministry program when it became known that faculty and staff at the Mount needed help grasping the essence of the Mount’s mission and the heritage of the Sisters of Charity.
The mission of the Mount includes excellence in academic endeavors, the integration of life and learning, respect and concern for all persons, diversity of cultures and beliefs and service to others.
The College of Mount St. Joseph is an undergraduate and graduate Catholic college that provides an interdisciplinary liberal arts and professional curriculum emphasizing values, service and social responsibility.
