Also learn about Bishop Simon Bruté, a truly significant figure in the Seton heritage they preserve. June 26 marks the the 173rd anniversary of the death of Simon Bruté. Today they begin a series on some of the role he played. Among its treasures, the archives holds some of his correspondence, sketches he made for Mother Seton’s youngest child Bec. and the oil painting which illustrates this post.
Next in the they feature a document explaining why Bishop Bruté is considered the Seton collection’s first archivist.
