Seton Cove Spirituality Center models one approach with its Thursday Luncheon Program for Seton employees, “The Five Vincentian Virtues: A Context for Living”

Thursday Vincent DePaul Luncheon identifies five virtues that are characteristic of his spirituality:  simplicity, humility meekness, mortification and zeal for souls.  He says, “They are the five smooth stones by which we might conquer the evil Goliath.”  [Common Rules XII, 12)  While he describes them as “the five characteristic virtues of the Congregation of the Mission,” they are certainly applicable to each of us.  Christ the Evangelizer of the Poor is at the heart of Vincentian vision and spirituality, and the five virtues support us in our efforts to live out this vision and spirituality.

The Seton Cove was founded in 1994 by Sister Mary Rose McPhee, D.C. and a group of dedicated supporters who wanted to reach out to those striving to integrate spirituality and deeper meaning into their lives. The Seton Cove programs and services encourage people of all faiths to seek more meaning through the healthy balance of a mind, body, and spirit.
