Soon, the bishops of Latin America will be fully connected to one another through a new website. It’s called episcopo.net. Through the website, bishops can share documents, information and even have video conferencing meetings. The website will officially launch on October 19th.
One of the main features includes ten virtual rooms that allows up to 250 people to have video conferencing meetings.
Each bishop will have a personal password to access and store information as well as a secure e mail account.
Aside from the flow of information, the website will also reduce the number of trips bishops have to take to meet with their counterparts.
Several groups collaborated in the project, including the RIIAL or Network of the Church in Latin America, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications and the Latin American Episcopal Council.
