The 437 Daughters living in 47 communities in the Philippines launched the 150th anniversary celebration of the arrival of the last July 22.
In commemoration the Sisters, together with the different sectors of the Vincentian community planted 150 native forest and fruit trees at the CIC campuses in Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City and Mandaue to symbolize the 150 years of their presence in the country.
The event began at the Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion was marked with a mini musicale recounting the journey of the first 15 DC sisters and two Vincentian priests and a brother when they set forth from Spain in 1862.
The celebration will culminate on July 22, 2012.
