For the second straight year, St. John’s has been named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.
In related developments St. John’s celebrated the graduation of the first classes in the Advantage Academy and Ozanam Scholars Program during a special ceremony at the D’Angelo Center. Both programs are successful outgrowths of VISA an initiative designed to more visibly embed St. John’s Catholic and Vincentian mission into the educational experience of its students.

It makes me proud to call StJ my alma mater. We’re equally proud here in the C.M. Bolivian Mission of our first Bolivian Ozanam Scholar, Nur Gorayeb, headed to St. John’s this year! Nur’s family has been a great support to the confreres here over the years.
