Everytime I see such a video, I wonder: how far away are those people from me? Where are they?
And then, concerning the writings of Mother Seton, that ‘the cross carries us’, which I find very powerful, I think: suffering is good for us. It keeps us in tune with reality.
Plus, everytime I hear a statement on TV, such as, “Oh did she (or he)suffer much before such a one died?”, I think: ‘what is wrong with suffering? It makes you stronger, better, and more like Jesus.’
