De Marillac Academy, with grades four through eight, is noting its 10th anniversary this year, but there may be even more cause for celebration next year when the first class of its graduates earn college degrees. That will be a considerable achievement for young people who began with so little, and De Marillac will be closer to its goal of breaking the cycle of generational poverty that churns in the Tenderloin.
