Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception – “We are a people ignited by the fire of God’s love, rooted in our relationships with God, others and the universe, called beyond ourselves, shedding our fears, open to the surprises of the Spirit, bold in claiming our wisdom, all for the sake of the mission.”

In 1854, Honoria Conway and companions established the SCIC in Saint John, New Brunswick. The community
became the first English-speaking, Roman Catholic religious congregation founded in Canada. The sisters’ living
heritage embraces the person and gospel of Jesus, as expressed through the spirituality of Saints Vincent de Paul,
Louise de Marillac and Elizabeth Ann Seton.
