On October 15, 1859 newly built house was opened. It was founded by Bishop of Krakow, Ludwik Letowski, who once asked Superiors General to bring Daughters of 150lecie-srodekCharity to Krakow to serve the poor and orphaned, abandoned children in Kleparz, suburb of Krakow.

The bishop gave his possessions to charitable works. After his death he was laid down in tomb in the crypt of the chapel in Daughters of Charity house.

150lecie-gora-LwowWith erection of new house Superior General Jean Baptiste Etienne and Superioress General Mother Augustine Devos decided to transfer provincial administration from Lviv to Krakow. Daughters of Charity Province in Lviv, called Province of Galicia, was erected in 1783 on the territories of Poland annexed by Austria. With transition of provincial administration to Krakow the Province has changed its name to Province of Krakow. Presently, Krakow is one of three provinces in Poland with some 375 members in 36 houses in Poland, Russia and Ukraine.

The celebration of the anniversary starts on Sunday, November 22 with arrival of Superioress General, Sr. Evelyne Franc DC and Sr. Zofia Daniscakova DC, Counselor for Slavic Provinces of the Company. In the afternoon, Mother General will meet delegates from various groups of Vincentian Family from the Province of Krakow.

Main celebrations are scheduled for Monday, November 23 with a lecture of Visitatrice, Sr. Anna Brzek DC introducing the jubilee in the morning, followed by a service at the tomb of Msgr Letowski in the crypt. Next Mother General and her associates will visit the Memorial Hall. In the afternoon Sr. Evelyne will meet the Sisters in the House. Solemn Eucharist at 1600UTC will culminate the day. Visitor of CM Province of Poland, Very Rev. Arkadiusz Zakreta CM will preside the Eucharist and preaching the homily.

On final day, Tuesday, November 24, a joint session of all three Provincial Councils with Superioress General and her Assistant will be the main planned activity. Soon before leaving Sr. Evelyne will visit Senior Sisters in the Infirmary.
