nwfcaA fun activity to start a conversation about immigration with your leaders or allies. Northwest Federation of Community Organizations (NWFCO} created this board game as a tool for grassroots organizations to use. Just click on the game parts below and print them out and you´re ready to go.
In Our Own Words: Immigrants´ Experiences in the Northwest is a report NWFCO wrote, based on hundreds of interviews with immigrants in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Many of the experiences and stories in the game are taken from the report.

To assemble the game, print out each half of the board game on a sheet of 11 x 17 paper. Cut off the white margin on the inside of one of the board game halves, and tape them together. You can get the board laminated at an office supply store or copy shop to make it last longer. Print out the game cards on card stock and cut them apart. You will also need one die and six game pieces. You can use any small objects for the game pieces, or borrow some from a board game at home.

If you have any questions about the game, please email Carrie at carrie(at)nwfco.org or call at 206-568-5400. Please email or call me with feedback as well when you play the game with your members or allies. I would love to know how you are using it, what works for you and doesn´t work, and what people think of the game.
