svdp-logo-ausIn a Press release on May 29,  it was announced that Dominic Lagana has been appointed the new State President of the St Vincent de Paul Society in SA. He replaces John D’Souza whose five year term has been completed.

It has been fourteen years since Dominic joined the Society. His desire now as then, is to serve, inspired by the example of Christ and The St Vincent de Paul founder Frederic Ozanam, who as a young University student, established the first conference with fellow Students at the Sorbonne in Paris. Dominic believes that the St Vincent de Paul Society should continue ‘to serve the poor and marginalised in society’. The Society must look at itself to see how it can improve and how it should move forward. It must do this by understanding how the Society can function better, and how change can come from within. source
