Each year the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations observes the date of its founding, October 16, 1945, with World Food Day. Next Thursday, one event marking the date will be the opening of an Action Center to End World Hunger in lower Manhattan, NY.
The center is very near the World Trade Center site and only about a mile from the Elizabeth Seton Shrine. It is a “first-of-its-kind, interactive public space that educates and empowers visitors to tackle the global challenges posed by hunger and poverty.”
