There are many Daughters of Charity who, like Jesus, travel the roads of life reaching out to those their fellow travellers making theirs hearts burn with the flame of Love. To them they also open their doors inviting others to share the mission that gives meaning to their lives.

From the site…

Jesus caught up with them along the road and he walked beside them. They shared their doubts, fears and disappointments with him. Without realizing it he set their hearts on fire as he opened the Scriptures to them revealing the message of the Good News. When they arrived at the inn they opened the door to this stranger that had walked with them. And then sharing, not only the Word, but also the Bread, they discovered in him the face of Jesus.

Louise de Marillac and Vincent de Paul also opened many doors thanks to their sensitivity towards and love of Him present in each person. They understood that God chooses the simple and the poor to reveal what is hidden from the wise and the learned. Vincent and Louise continue to open many doors today. Because of them there are many hands that work and feet that walk, lips which speak and smile, eyes which look at their brothers and sisters and in them they discover the face of God.

…This gathering had been arranged by the Interprovincial Vocations Team and it had four essential elements within it. Firstly, there was a sharing on how we came to be there. Who had invited us and why we had accepted the invitation to come. Secondly, there was the opportunity to find out about the Daughters of Charity. There was a sharing of doubts and fears and the Sisters opened the doors of their hearts and shared their own vocation stories. Thirdly the gathering included women who are postulants. It was a very rich experience of being together during which fears and doubts were enlightened by the experience of HAVING BEEN TRUSTED to COME AND SEE, which is the road that Jesus offers to each one in the formation process. We shared and prayed together and then had dinner together. During the meal we were joined by a group of young Sisters who were working in the Provincial House.
