Coordinator of the event Bishop Anthony Fisher said the Pope had specifically requested a meeting with some of Sydney’s disadvantaged young people.
“Those he will meet are young people alienated from the many positive messages that World Youth Day promotes,†Fisher said.
A spokeswoman for World Youth Day confirmed the pope would meet people living on the streets as well as those battling drug and alcohol problems.
In another twist thousands of pilgrims may also be homeless according to CBNNEWS
