A new biography of Abram J. Ryan C.M. (1838-1886) will soon be available. Fr Ryan, who was closely associated with the “Lost Cause” idealogy, was part of Niagara University’s early history, first as a student and then as a faculty member. He served as a chaplain in the Confederate Army in the US Civil War. See an article about the forthcoming bio or see other stories on famvin.
