Vincentian family gathering for systemic change in New Orleans

Leaders in the Vincentian Family in North America are “happy to invite you to the next Vincentian Family Gathering, to be held April 10-13, 2008 in New Orleans, LA. In the Providence of God, the 2008 Vincentian Family Gathering leads us to “Solidarity in Action” and unites us with the focus on “Systemic Change” given to us by Fr. Gregory Gay, CM and the International Vincentian Family Leadership.”

This meeting is designed to be a different kind of gathering with the emphasis on collective and collaborative learning what the obstacles and opportunities are when trying to address systemic issues in New Orleans.

As the Vincentian Family, we will:
• Listen to the stories of hope and despair in New Orleans
• Experience collaboration in renewing New Orleans
• Serve, reflect, share and pray together
• Discern our future commitment to be “a voice with the voiceless” in bringing about systemic change

This gathering promises to be different from any other gathering of the family.
