Half a million years ago or so, a Columbian Mammoth dropped a tusk on property that is owned today by St. Vincent de Paul in San Diego. The tusk was discovered last month in the course of excavation for new construction of apartments for the working poor. Read more, if only to satisfy yourself that we didn’t make this up!
