According to the Financial Times the United Nations World Food Programme has warned that rising food prices are threatening its ability to feed the roughly 90 million people around the world that it helps, urging donors to boost their contributions. One concern is that growing demand for biofuel, which uses grain as an energy source, is pushing up food prices, Josette Sheeran, WFP’s director, said in an interview with the Financial Times.   Related story
