Jesus Caldera, Spanish Minister for Labour and Social Security, presented the Golden Medal Merit Award to Daughter of Charity, Sister Carmen Velasco Ramos, for her work in the Health Service. The ceremony was attended by her co-workers from the clinic as well as members of her family and many Daughters of Charity.
The award proposed by the Minister for Labour and Social Affairs was granted last December by the Ministers’ Council. It was the first of 34 Gold Medals awarded this year to a variety of individuals and organisations for outstanding service in the field of health care and social service.
