Christmas challenges us to discover the face of Christ in each
brother or sister that we greet, in each friend whose hand we shake, in
each beggar who ask for bread, in each worker who wants to exercise the
right to join a union, in each farm workers who looks for work in our
fields. If we see Christ in their face then it would be impossible to
rob them, to cheat them, to deny them their rights. They are Christ and
whatever is done to them Christ will take as done to himself. This is
the meaning of Christmas, name, Christ living among us.Source: As yet unpublished translation of his complete homilies.
