The Daughters of Charity Health Center will be operating a health clinic in New Orleans to serve the special needs of residents residing in the Ninth Ward.The United Health Foundation has announced that it will provide funding to establish and operate yet another community health care center. This latest center, the Daughters of Charity Health Center – St. Cecilia, will operate in New Orleans and serve the Baywater and the Ninth Ward community. This is the fourth clinic under the “Center of Excellence” health care program that is financially supported by the United Health Foundation.


The Daughters of Charity Health Center – St. Cecilia will focus on restoring the health care services that were dramatically impacted by Katrina in August of last year. This new clinic will be located in a former church that will be renovated and equipped to operate as a primary health care facility. It will focus on the special needs of the community that include diabetes care and management, childhood asthma, HIV prevention and treatment, mental health concerns and preventive health care.
