Of interest to famvin subscribers is the fac the Blessed Frederic proposed a “natural wage” ssome 50 years before Rerum Novarum, the first ot the great Social Encyclicals.
He called for more than a minimum or subsistence wage but a wage that would also provide for one’s retirement.
Also of interest is that an Italian member of the St. Vincent dePaul Society was called in by Leo XIII to serve as technical advisor in the preparation of the encylical.
