Six students are spending their senior year at St. John’s University tuition-free after being selected as Vincentian Scholars for the 2006-2007 academic year. All six were selected on the basis of academic performance, community service, campus activities, and financial need by a committee composed of representatives from five University offices: Provost, Financial Aid, Donor Relations, Student Life and Campus Ministry
The new scholarship opportunity was created by generous alumni and friends of the University with the intention of acknowledging students who have embraced St. John’s Vincentian Mission in their lives, both on and off campus, It will cover tuition less any federal, state and University aid already being received, says Susan Ebbs, Ed.D., Special Assistant to the Provost and chair of the committee.
