Over 200 Ladies of Charity from across the United States shuffled off to Buffalo for their Sixth Annual National Assembly. The theme of this gathering WOMEN OF TOIL AND TRIUMPH, says much about the spirit of their membership who are so passionate in their care of the poor.

The program offered a rich slate of plenary speakers as well as time for smaller workshops.

The jam packed two day meeting itself was preceded two days of sightseeing and socialization.

The participants represented 72 local associations and the members which form the National Association (Ladies of Charity USA) which is a member of the International Association of Charities. These groups grew out of the first of St. Vincent de Paul’s numerous foundation which include the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity.

Standing in that tradition the Ladies welcome anyone to share their journey to improve the life of those in need and to have opportunity to personally meet and know the poor by name.
