The Society of St. Vincent De Paul of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church Iba,
in Lagos, Nigeria was cited as the way to support people caught in cycle of poverty…. The incident (described above in detail) now attracts the interest of some TV stations to cover the situation. So AIT, MITV and some other stations carried it, for the sake of news. Now that they have delivered the news. but what we are interested in now is the effect behind the news.

They went to office of the first Lady of Lagos State at Alausa, but surprisingly were told to hang on till more of such cases come their way before assitance can be given. When these four children arrived, the media carried the story which in turn attracted fund from churches, individuals and groups. The gifts and assistances were received with much appreciation by the family.

The situation is likened to a bereaved family that received lots and lots of visitors and sympathizers during the burial, then after burial the family is left in the cold.
