On October 5 at its annual convention in Tampa, Florida,
the Canon Law Society of America honored Father Paul Golden, C.M., with its Role of Law award, recognizing
his outstanding contributions to the society”s mission
of serving the People of God for over the past
three-plus decades.
His
talk urging the re-teaching of canon law so as to make people better aware of their rights and mission in the
Church was well received.
Also, Father Mike Joyce, C.M., was elected as one of the new
consultors to the Board of Governors, despite having
been forced to be absent from the convention owing to
the death of his goddaughter”s child. In fact, he was
the highest vote-getter of the three candidates
elected to this office.
